Although the “Christmas get-together” in December marked the final opportunity for Trust members and guests to meet in 2023, the Trust was invited to attend an event at Belgrave Hall on the 9th and 10th December 2023. The staff at the Hall held a “Crafting weekend”, consisting of a number of workshops to teach people how to make a variety of things – for example Chris, the Belgrave Hall gardener, held a workshop for garland-making. The event was by pre-booking only, so was not open to the general public but the Trust were invited to mount a display in the main entrance to the Hall to advertise the Trust to the people taking part in the workshops – a potentially different audience to that of the usual open days.
The display generated a significant amount of interest and, combined with the well-attended workshops, the weekend was judged to have been very successful by both the Trustees and the Hall staff.
