The 12th December saw the last meeting at Cross Corners on Thurcaston Road for 2023, in the form of a free “Christmas get together” to say “thank you” to the members and guests who had attended the meetings during the year.
Sixteen people were able to attend the meeting; light refreshments were provided, along with an “anonymous” prize-draw and quiz comprising of identifying celebrities, tv sitcoms and biscuits! A sheet of twenty photographs for each category was provided, and the winners – Jane and Chloe – received a prize of a box of biscuits.
Everyone received a raffle ticket on arrival, and each winning ticket draw entitled the holder to choose a prize, all of which were disguised so that the actual prize wasn’t visible.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for everyone to sit and chat, and the afternoon was deemed a great success.
