In 2023 our “Weddings in Belgrave” display in the Heritage room at Belgrave Hall proved to be very popular. For 2024 we have revised and extended the display to include not only the 1950’s wedding that was on display last year, but a 100 year old wedding dress and a wedding saree.
The 100 year old dress was worn by miss Elizabeth Caroline Jenner when she married Albert Edward Walker on the 1st September 1914 in Battersea, London. The dress is made of Ecru Lace, and the shoes are made of silk. What is not obvious from the photograph is that it really is tiny. The saree has been loaned to us by one of our visitors.
