Dates for your 2024 diary (updated 21/11/2023)

Although we have not yet finalised our list of speakers for 2024 we have booked the rooms at Cross Corners for the following dates, so please make a note of the dates in your diary. We will publish the speaker for each date once they have been confirmed. Two of the talks will be evening talks (dates to be confirmed).

Tuesday April 9th  2pm – 4pm  – We will be holding our AGM prior to a talk by Brian JohnsonBrian’s talk will be on the subject of  “Made In Leicester”. A number of well-known – and lesser-known but important – companies had their origins in Leicester, one of which is the sadly-missed Wilkinson’s, better known as  “Wilkos”.

There are no talks planned for  July and August.

Tuesday December 10th – our social meeting.

Details of the speakers, and the time of the events, will be published as soon as they have been confirmed. We are looking forward to confirming a date for John Martin-Jones to to give a talk on “A Year at St. Peter’s”, and for Peter Cousins to talk on “Starting your Family Tree”.

We are also hosting a free-to-enter “Heritage Day” in the marquee at Belgrave Hall, on Saturday May 4th  11am – 4pm, featuring displays by the Trust and other heritage groups. Full details will be published once they are finalised.
