Our Guest Speaker for May – FELICITY AUSTIN

Our Guest Speaker for May – FELICITY AUSTIN

As part of our forthcoming month-long exhibition at Belgrave Hall entitled “I WERE MARRIED THERE”, our first talk at Cross Corners for 2023 was given by Felicity Austin. The subject of Felicity’s talk was “100 Years of Weddings” – a subject that, at first glance, may not have appealed to the gentlemen in the audience. However, Felicity – with the aid of a number of wedding-related items (and wearing a “typical WW2 wedding outfit”)  – gave us a fascinating insight to many aspects of what was involved in arranging a wedding for different generations, as well as anecdotes of various actual weddings. Combined with her interaction with the audience, Felicity’s talk had something of interest for everyone.

The trustees would like to thank everyone who came to the talk, and to the staff of Cross Corners, for their support.
